Optimal lot-sizing integration policy under learning and rework effects in a manufacturerヨretailer chain

چکیده
Most research in economic manufacturing/order quantity management assumes that all products are of perfect quality and are produced at a constant production rate. One result of this assumption is that the number of units produced in a given period is constant, which is not the case in real life. Most production systems produce items which are of perfect quality along with some that are of imperfect quality. Defective items, as well as the learning effect, affect production and inventory costs, thereby shaping the performance of the manufacturer–retailer chain. The present study uses the Nash, Stackelberg, and cooperation games to model an imperfect production system to investigate the combined effects of lotsizing size integration, the learning effect, imperfect production, and the rework process on a manufacturer–retailer channel. This study also demonstrates the optimal properties of the proposed models, develops a search algorithm for obtaining optimal solutions, and conducts a numerical study to seek structural and quantitative insights into the structure of the proposed models. In addition it analyzes the sensitivity of the solutions in relation to the major parameters. & 2014 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

Optimal Manufacturer-Retailer Policies in a Supply Chain with Defective Product and Price Dependent Demand
This study deals with a two-level supply chain consisting of one manufacturer and one retailer. We consider an integrated production inventory system where the manufacturer processes raw materials in order to deliver finished product with imperfect quality to the retailer, where number of defective product has a uniform distribution. The retailer receives product and conducts a 100% inspection....

The supplier produces the item (raw...
متن کاملINVENTORY MODEL FOR DETERIORATING ITEMS WITH REVENUE SHARING ON PRESERVATION TECHNOLOGY INVESTMENT UNDER PRICE SENSITIVE STOCK DEPENDENT DEMAND
The objective of this research is to tackle the emerging problem of jointly determining theoptimal retail price, the replenishment cycle, and the cost of preservation technology investment from an integrated perspective among the supplier and the manufacturer. This paper deals an integrated single-manufacturer single-retailer supply chain model for deteriorating items under revenue sharing on p...
متن کاملInventory Cost Evaluation Under VMI Program with Lot Splitting
This paper aims to evaluate inventory cost of a Two-echelon serial supply chain system under vendor managed inventory program with stochastic demand, and examine the effect of environmental factors on the cost of overall system. For this purpose, we consider a two-echelon serial supply chain with a manufacturer and a retailer. Under Vendor managed inventory program, the decision on inventory ...
متن کاملCompetitive Pricing in a Supply Chain Using a Game Theoretic Approach
We develop a price competition model for a new supply chain that competes in a market comprised of some rival supply chains. The new supply chain has one risk-neutral manufacturer and one risk-averse retailer in which the manufacturer is a leader and retailer is a follower. The manufacturer pays a fraction of the risk cost (caused by demand uncertainty) to the retailer. We apply this competitiv...
